Pragya Yoga Soorya Namaskaras

Yoga is the word, which is mostly used or rather misused in our day-to-day life. The word has many connotations. We simply equate it with some physical postures or breathing techniques or practice of meditation. Yoga, no doubt includes all of these but these form only the periphery of yogic science. To incur the real benefits of yoga, one must dive down into the depths of ocean of yogic knowledge. We intend to present this ancient science of yoga, postulated by the great sages of India in a different perspective- the perspective, which was ignored or overlooked by many eminent yoga practitioners.

There are eighty-four lakh asanas related to as many Yonis. If today yoga has become popular and is being practiced by millions; the credit goes to Param Pujya Gurudev Pandit shriram Sharma Acharya who has sown the seeds of yoga in his nursery at Shantikunj two decades ago. He has started training parijans in yoga when the rest of the world was not even aware of the utility of yoga for modern man. At that time He has predicted 'Today what I am sowing in my nursery will spread all over the world and transform into gigantic trees."This is evident now everywhere. Parampujya Gurudev Pandit Shriram sharma has dealt the subject of asnas in detail. But his special innovation is a package of Pragnayog vyayam, which can be practiced by every body for superb benefits of physical fitness. Gurudev wanted it to spread like wildfire in all the schools. Through this web site we are making a humble effort in that direction.

In practicing Yoga Asanas one must realize it is not a bodily posture but a state of mind, which is suggested therein. For e.g. vajrasana suggests a diamond shiny and hard. Mayurasana – fastness of a peacock, parvatasana – stability of a mountain, padmasana helps attain a state of detachment (drop of water on a lotus leaf) lotus though grown in a swamp looks above to the sun Padmasana attracts Devatas or Divine energies. Simhasana suggests the valour and strength of a lion. Setubandhasana – a bridge between Atma and Paramaatma. Practice of this asana enhances the process of evolution. In halasana one ploughs the antariksha for the good seed thoughts.

Benefits of Suryanamaskar on Mental and causal planes

Suryanamaskara is a set of Asanas and as such ensures all the benefits for which asanas have been especially designed by Indian Rishis. As we know the Pranamaya Sarira or kosa is made up of 72000 Nadinet work, Shatchakras, other minor charkas ,Bhramar, Upatyakas .Besides this there are many sensitive spots called Marmasthala’. Even though Marmasthals are present allover the body, their number in abdominal and thoracic regions is more . These points are the centers of positive energy called havyavaha and negative energy called kavyavaha. These are sensitive and any minor set back here; as a result of a sudden stroke or contamination of poisonous particles or stoppage of blood even for a fraction of second has a severe impact on physical health. Apparently there may not be any symptoms of disease but the body becomes hollow internally. Doctors cannot understand such cases and the treatment given is, not of much use Marmasthalas are to be protected well. Ordinary physical exercise cannot influence these spots. No medicine or surgical measures can reach them. Asanas are especially designed for the purpose. Contraction and relaxation of major Nadis, muscles as well as Sookshma Nadis clear the deformity accumulated in the Marmasthalas and prevents further accumulation. Asanas bring perfect balance between the positive and negative energies stored therein and thus reduce the risk of many diseases caused by the imbalance of energies.

Benefits of Suryanamaskar on causal body or karana sarira

The main function of causal body is to act as a vehicle of ego. The causal body is the “body of manas” the form aspect of the individual, the true man the thinker. causal body works as a storehouse for the essence of the man’s experiences in his various incarnations; the qualities stored here in seed form are carried over to the next incarnations.

The causal body is said to be the reservoir of all that is noble and harmonious and in accordance with the law of spirit. Every great and noble thought, every pure and lofty emotion is carried up and its essence worked into the substance of causal body. Hence the condition of the causal body is a true register-the only true register of the growth of the man; the stage of evolution, to which he has attained. The causal body is affected only by the three higher portions of the astral (desire) body and the vibrations in those portions represent only good qualities.

In the present circumstances human beings have acquired many a vices but; the vice belongs to the lower vehicles and not to the real man in causal body. A Vice might seem very hard to conquer; but if ego assimilates the opposite virtue, the vice is cut off at the root and can no longer exist, neither in this life nor in all the lives that are to come.

While performing Suryanamaskar along with Bijaksharas and the 12 names of Sun God, the ego imbibes- the 12 noble qualities from Sun. By repeating this day after day Permanent atoms get created in the causal body and thus these personality traits are carried to next incarnations .It need not be mentioned especially that these virtues replace the vices acquired in this birth or previous Incarnations.
